May 26

I truly cannot believe that my darling Miss M is going to Kindergarten next year. It hurts my heart already. Today was her preschool graduation and program. The kids put on such a cute, cute program with songs and speaking parts. They all wore a cap and gown - adorable! It was real tear jerker when they sang and signed "You Raise Me Up" and dedicated the song to the parents. Sob! I wish time would slow down just a tiny bit!

Today Carter did his final project for the school year. Each child in his class picked an animal to become a "class expert" on. Carter chose the very creepy vampire bat to do his presentation on. Mrs. Piccininno is very particular about the kids doing their own work so he worked very hard on his poster doing all the painting, cutting, gluing and typing. His presentation went great today and he was able to answer all the questions his class asked him. I can't believe how grown up he is getting!!

May 24

I know summer is upon us when I have to scrub the kids' feet down every night. My kids are much like I am and hate wearing shoes in the summer. I always feel a tinge of satisfaction that my kids have played hard during the day when their feet look like this!

Sigh. I can hardly believe that after 6 years of faithful watching that LOST has ended. We have had mixed emotions about this season and I'm needing more time to process the final episode. It's been a great run though and a show we've consistently enjoyed together. LOST is the first show that we started watching as a couple and we have loved the ups and downs and many mysteries of the show.

The Master Bathroom in our new house has a great and huge jacuzzi tub that the kids are LOVING. Carter and Makenna beg to bathe in it every night but Addie is terrified of the bubbles. The best part is that a little bit of bubble bath goes a long way in this tub!

May 21

Kenna's preschool class had a field trip to Village Pizza today. The kids were able to make their own pizzas and see how the restaurant is run while the pizzas cooked. After the tour we were able to eat our pizza and visit with friends. We all had a really fun time.

May 20

Our friends Noah and Hailey came over this afternoon so their mom could get some stuff done around their house. The kids played really well together but then decided they wanted to relax with a movie and some popcorn.

May 19

A mom's worst nightmare and a kids dream come true = our all dirt backyard. The owners are supposed to landscape it at some point this summer but in the mean time it is keeping my kids awfully happy this summer and creating plenty of extra laundry.

May 18

Today was field day for the elementary school. I was able to help with some of the activities and see Carter participate. He had a great time with all the stations and worked hard at not being too competitive. His favorite game was drip, drip, drop which is duck, duck, goose but with a water bottle that gets dumped on the "goose" person. He is chasing in this picture trying to catch the dropper!

May 17

This is how I know there are a bunch of kids running around my house - the pile of shoes by the door. And I honestly would not have it any other way! I love having my home filled with my kids and their friends!

May 16

Makenna has been obsessed with baby tigers lately. No idea where it came from. This morning she drew marker whiskers on herself and Addie without asking me first (obviously). It's hard to be mad at something so funny and cute. Even with a bit of scrubbing they wouldn't come off. It was extra motivation for Makenna's baby tiger character all day.

May 15

Tonight we went to Chick-fil-a for dinner and let the kids get a peach shake for dessert. As you can tell, the kids were in heaven. So cute!!

May 14

Today was water day at Makenna's school. The teachers planned some fun activities but it was really cold and windy. The kids didn't even put their swimsuits on or get wet. It was a bummer but they still had fun with some of the games. This is Makenna with her cute friend Micah.

May 13

Carter is very particular about the placement of the Legos in his room and hates for anything to be disorganized or out of it's designated spot. It cracks me up that several creations have found a home on the ledge of his bed. The kid still has a serious obsession with Legos and I love seeing his creativity in his creations.

May 12

Addie tends to be a little grumpy and clingy when she wakes up from her afternoon nap. Luckily today Makenna was in the mood to snuggle with her. Apparently she also wanted a snack so M packed along the goldfish. They lay there for about 15 minutes with Makenna rubbing Addie's back and snuggling. These are the moments I cherish!

May 11

Since our move we have worked really hard at purging things from our home. Today I worked long and hard to transfer our file cabinet over from our huge old cabinet to our new cabinets that match our new office furniture. This is what I ended up purging. The pile on the left was thrown away and the pile on the right was shredded. I can almost feel a physical weight being lifted as I get rid of junk and I love it!

May 10

Today Carter had a big book report due for school. He worked really hard on the report, visual aid and oral presentation. His teacher is VERY big on student only work and he really put for a great effort for this project. He read a book and then drew a scene from the beginning, middle and end of the book. He filled the canister with props from the story that he pulled out while he retold the story to his classmates.

May 9

Today is Mother's Day! I so love being a mom to my three little munchkins. I love seeing their personalities and strengths develop. Being a mom is the toughest and most rewarding thing I've ever done. Learning how to juggle the needs, personalities and differences in my kids is challenging but I'd never choose a different path for my life. It was an extra treat to have my mom in town to get to spend the day with her too!

May 8

Carter's first piano recital was tonight and he did a fabulous job. He played the theme from Star Wards and did a great little performance. We are thrilled with how much he loves to play the piano and have seen really great progress this year as he has been taking. My good friend Bethany is his teacher and she does a great job motivating the kids to work hard.

May 7

Makenna had a birthday party today on the other side of town. In an effort to kill time while she was at the party, we went to upscale outdoor mall that we rarely get to. We did a bit of shopping and then grandma treated us all to an icecream cone. It spoiled our dinner for sure but it was delicious!

May 6

Today Carter's school had a special lunch for Mother's day that grandma and I attended. The food wasn't the greatest but it was especially fun to have grandma in attendance. Carter is sure silly around his friends but it's so fun to see him in his element.

May 5

Today was the Mother's Day Tea at Makenna's preschool. It was so fun that she was able to have grandma there as well. The kids sang several songs about moms, made us some darling crafts and served us tea party food. I loved being with my mom and my little gal!

May 4

Today was first grade day at the zoo for Carter's school. We hooked up with the Evans and the Chapmans for a really fun day playing together. It was nice to leisurely walk through the zoo without rushing to get anyone home. We had to stop for ice cream and drinks on the way home too!

May 3

Today Addie and I made a run to Trader Joe's. Unfortunately she has discovered the mini shopping carts they have for kids. She LOVES pushing it around but I doubt the other store patrons loved being run into by a cute 2 year old!

May 2

Today was rainy and COLD and Makenna begged me to make a pot of chili. I obliged and Allen whipped up a batch of the famous Frost Family biscuits. Yum!

May 1

Today commenced the great and terrible moving week! We made great progress bringing loads over from the old house and getting them unpacked today. The kids were AWESOME and totally kept themselves happy and entertained for most of the day. Carter and Makenna laid on the floor coloring and crafting for the better part of the afternoon while Addie slept and we unpacked.

April 30

Tonight we finally got out to celebrate our anniversary. We went to a fancy restaurant recommended to us by our chef friend. The food was very yummy and we had a great time together. I forgot to take a picture at the restaurant so instead I took a picture of our after dinner treat. We snuggled up and watched Sherlock Holmes again and had a wonderful evening together.

April 29

One of my little splurges in life is anything that makes my house smell yummy. I'm a total scent
and candle junkie. When I saw these cute caddies of cleaning supplies at Target I immediately stopped to sniff. HEAVEN. I bought the Citron Ginger flavor and think I will be going back for the matching lotion and candle. Yum!

April 28

I read a challenge on another blog to do a purse dump to showcase life at the moment. I think it's such a fun idea so I did it today. My purse contents are not too exciting but I do notice that I have a whole lot of technology going on here. It was also a good excuse to give it a good cleaning!

April 27

Today is our 9th anniversary! What a wonderful and eventful 9 years it has been. We never imagined what a grand adventure we would be on together when we were married that day in the Denver temple. When I came down to make breakfast this morning, this sign was hanging in the kitchen. I love it and promptly burst into tears. I have the perfect husband for me and I am grateful every day.

April 26

Tonight we hosted the end of season soccer party at our house. We did a big potluck and everyone had a great time playing and visiting. It made us all wish we had been doing socializing outside of practices and games all along. Here's Carter with his cute team mates. They had a great year playing together and became great friends!

April 25

Yesterday my friend Michelle stopped by in the morning to pick something up. She had been out garage sale-ing and I asked if she found anything great while out. She told me about a desk she had seen but did not need. After finding out the details we jumped in the car to go look at the set. It was such a great find! Just my style, the right color and the right price! Hooray! We have been looking for new office furniture for the house and this fit the bill perfectly.

April 24

Today the kids had a primary activity at the temple. It was a really neat experience. Temple workers took the kids on small group tours around the grounds and discussed the history of the temple and the details about how and when it was built. At the end they each got a picture of the Albuquerque temple. We had a great experience.

April 23

The silver lining to doing this move ourselves is all the dejunking that is happening at my house right now. Today I spent quite a bit of time weeding out my closet. I'm donating this stack of pants that are either out of style or the wrong size now. 33 pair total! Woohoo! I love getting rid of stuff.

April 22

The girls have been such troopers through the soccer season this spring. They really love playing with the siblings of the other players and have developed some cute friendships. Tonight they were having a grass fight with their little friend Jasmine and having so much fun together.
