April 4

I was holding Emery while editing pictures today when Addie came and put these Mr. Potatohead glasses on her. I about died laughing. My point and shoot was sitting right there so I got this extreme close-up of Emery in her glasses. I emailed it to all my family and everyone got a big kick out of it!

We enjoyed the morning session of conference today. Carter insisted that this be the POTD and loved taking care of Emery while we got food ready for our bi-annual conference potluck! Such
cutie cute kids!!

I LOVE General Conference weekend. I made these buckets for the kids to have this weekend. I filled it with the conference packet, new box of crayons and fun treats and snacks. They LOVED this and it was so easy to throw together for them. We are thrilled with how well they listened and paid attention this year!

Carter's project this month was to research an inventor, write up a speech about him/her, dress up like him and create a model of the invention. He chose George Nissen, the inventor of the trampoline. The kids in 2/3 grade were placed around the school and gave their speeches to the parents when we came around. It was awesome and I learned a ton! The kids were really creative about the inventors they chose to spotlight!

What do you do when your 3 year old wants to wear a princess dress and Michael Jackson wig when you go out to dinner?! You let her, of course! Addie got loads of compliments on her ensemble and cracked us all up!

March 30

Tonight I had a much needed girl's night out with some friends. A couple friends have birthday's this week so a group of us went to dinner at Bumblee's and out for dessert. It was nice to get away and leave Emery at home and hang with these great women! I'm so blessed to have a great group of friends here!

March 29

I've never folded laundry with a baby in my lap before. Miss Emery really loves being held so I am getting creative about how to get things done with her in my arms. It takes a lot longer to fold but at least it's getting done. And I can hardly believe how much laundry I do each week. One extra little person adds a lot!

March 28

We got home from AZ LATE last night and what a mess awaited me. I let the kids sleep in late and finally got them to school at about 10. Afterwards I rushed around getting laundry done, upacking and getting groceries! I sure love taking trips but they are a ton of work!

March 27

This weekend we stayed at the Arizona Grand Resort. They have BEAUTIFUL grounds so this morning we got the kids ready and took some pictures of them. I love this one of all the kiddos together and scarcely believe they all belong to me! And no, having a 3rd girl has not changed my obsession with dressing the girls alike!

March 26

Allen's mom was so kind and offered to keep the kids for a few hours today so we could do some shopping. They had a grand time together. She took them to the Mesa Children's museum, helped them squeeze some oranges to make juice and had a tea party. The kids always love grandma's tea parties and she spoils them with lots of yummy treats and goodies. Grandma's are the best!

March 25

We are crazy and decided to take a kamikaze trip to Phoenix for Laurie and Adam's baby blessing. We drove over today and did not stop at the hotel until we filled our tummies with food from In N Out. YUM! Their food never disappoints and the kids love getting hats and stickers!

March 24

Carter started his first season of basketball this week. He loves it and is quite good at it. He loves practicing with Allen at the court in our neighborhood and has been extra motivated by watcher Jimmer play for BYU. Go Carter!! (Carter is #3 in the middle of the court)

March 23

Today was crazy hair day at the kids school. Makenna wanted tons of ponytails with ribbons in her hair. She loved it when I was done but wished I had used all different colors of ribbon. Next year!

March 22

Today I hosted Addison's playgroup. It's a cute group of 3 year olds who get together every week. This is what my playroom looked like after everyone left.

March 21

Today I had the carpets in the main living areas of the house cleaned and ALL of my upholstered furniture cleaned. HEAVEN! I have no idea why I've never had my furniture professionally cleaned because everything looks awesome! Hooray for spring cleaning!

March 20

Sometimes I have to remind my kids of the fun toys they have. Carter hasn't played with his marble track in forever so when I challenged him to do something he hasn't done for awhile, this is what he chose. Addison loved running the marbles through the track and Carter loved playing with her.

March 19

Sigh. Here we go again. I joined Weight Watchers today. I hate losing baby weight but I've always been pretty successful using their nursing mom's program. I have a long way to go but I'm happy to be taking control of the situation again.

March 18

Makenna started cheerleading today through Upward sports. Holy cow, I think this girl has found her calling in life. She loved learning cheers, her adorable uniform, the other girls and her coach. I feel like I'm watching myself 15 years ago! I love watching her try something new and seeing her really enjoy it!

March 17

I've been really into St. Patty's day this year. I've decorated the house for it, made crafts and pulled out the stops today. This was our lunch today - all green foods. The kids loved it! We had a fun Irish dinner, had a visit from Lucky, our leprechaun and talked about some Irish traditions and history.

March 16

Today I got together with Chelsie and Debra to make this cute st. Pat's banner I found online. It was a quick, easy and cheap project that we put together really fast. It was fun to let the kids
play while we crafted and gabbed and drank our huge Diet Coke's!

March 15

The puffy jar! We started a new behavior incentive program a couple weeks ago at home. My friend uses this with her kids and I decided to try it too. It works brilliantly! The kids can earn up to 6 puffies a day based on their behavior. They can also be taken away. When their jars are full, they get a prize that they have picked out. The kids behavior has improved dramatically. I can seen them stop and think about their reactions before they do anything. I'm hearing a lot of "yes, mom" instead of whining when I ask them to do their chores! It's the best!

March 14

I took the plunge and renewed our zoo membership today. It expired last fall and I've been on the fence about it due to all the uncertainty in our life. I'm so glad I did! It was a gorgeous day and the kids had a ball. It was busy because of spring break but we took our time and saw about half of the zoo and had our lunch there. And as always, we stopped for a cold treat on the way home! Yay for spring break!

March 13

Carter decided he wants to teach Makenna piano lessons every day this spring break. It's super cute to watch them together. I love how he has his hands over hers in this picture showing her which notes to play. I love when they get along well!
