February 1

Today was spirit day at school where the kids were encouraged to wear sportswear supporting their favorite teams. Of course the kids pulled out the stops with their outfits and were fully decked in their BYU gear.

January 31

This morning copied an activity I saw on Pinterest and did it with the little girls. I spread Baking soda on a pan and then let them use droppers to put colored vinegar on it. It was so fun to watch their faces at the reactions. This kept us busy for a good hour and they were so sad when I ran out of supplies. We'll definitely be doing this again soon.

January 30

Today Allen worked from home so Addison and I headed to the mall during Emery's nap. We went to pick out an American Girl doll for her birthday and then I asked her if she wanted to get her ears pierced. We told her she could get them pierced when she turned 5 but the timing was perfect so we got them done a week early. Addie didn't cry at all, though she was pretty surprised at how much it hurt when the first ear was pierced. She was super brave and is in love with her new earrings.

January 29

Addison had a fun trip to the fire department today and I was  able to help chaperone. It was super fun and we learned a lot. The firemen dressed up in their gear and let the kids practice some drills. We were also able to climb in a few of the emergency vehicles and learn more about what firemen do every day. Here she is with a couple of her cute friends Miriam and Emmaline.

January 28

Carter and Allen have spent the last few evenings working on Carter's last Pinewood Derby car. They did a lot of research and have tweaked things quite a bit from previous years. The derby is not my favorite thing in the world since I feel like it takes over our lives for a couple weeks but I'm so grateful these two have each other. I also can't believe Carter is almost out of Cub Scouts!

January 27

Nicole, Maddie and Brinley spent a couple days up in Seattle. Brinley had a cheer competition and the kids love hanging out together all weekend. We sure love our cousins and are so glad to live much closer to them. This was after church and dinner right before Nicole headed back to Vancouver.

January 26

Today Carter had another basketball game. He is improving every week and is loving his team this year. He took last year off of basketball so he playing a bit of catch up this week. We're so lucky to have gotten him onto a team with a great coach. He is learning a lot from his coach and teammates.

January 25

Ems is turning into a bit of a packrat. She can usually be found hauling around a whole bunch of stuff from room to room and getting frustrated when she can't hold it all. She is also obsessed with Addison's slipper and cries when Addie wears them and she wants them.

January 24

I came downstairs this morning to the girls snuggled up together on the couch and watching the Disney channel. I love how much these girls love each other and usually do such a good job of watching out for one another. Makenna is a great big sister and so nurturing and helpful and Addie is picking up on those traits too. I'm one lucky mama!

January 23

Oh little Emery. How we all love you. I couldn't resist buying you these adorable mint green skinny jeans. They looking adorable on you and multiple people commented on them when you wore them today. You are also at a stage where you love to have your picture taken. Good thing because I love taking pictures of you too!

January 22

Addie loves to play board games in the afternoon while Emery naps. Every single time we play Memory she kicks my trash. She is VERY good at this game and usually beats me quite handily!

January 21

This is a CRAZY busy week. I thought I'd take a picture of my planner just so I can remember how busy this winter has shaped up to be. So far everyone is loving their new activities and I feel like I'm adjusting well to the new schedule! I had to resort to using a paper planner AND a digital planner just to keep everything straight!

January 20

Sunday night is always game and treat night at our house. Tonight we played Hiss and Mexican train and tried a yummy new caramel popcorn recipe. I love the memories we make as we play around the kitchen table together!

January 19

Today was Carter's first basketball game. He did a great job and his team had a win. Emery was a little bit unhappy to have to sit there for an hour... until... we gave her some Red Vines. She was happy to sit and watch after she had her little treat!
