February 1

Today was spirit day at school where the kids were encouraged to wear sportswear supporting their favorite teams. Of course the kids pulled out the stops with their outfits and were fully decked in their BYU gear.

January 31

This morning copied an activity I saw on Pinterest and did it with the little girls. I spread Baking soda on a pan and then let them use droppers to put colored vinegar on it. It was so fun to watch their faces at the reactions. This kept us busy for a good hour and they were so sad when I ran out of supplies. We'll definitely be doing this again soon.

January 30

Today Allen worked from home so Addison and I headed to the mall during Emery's nap. We went to pick out an American Girl doll for her birthday and then I asked her if she wanted to get her ears pierced. We told her she could get them pierced when she turned 5 but the timing was perfect so we got them done a week early. Addie didn't cry at all, though she was pretty surprised at how much it hurt when the first ear was pierced. She was super brave and is in love with her new earrings.

January 29

Addison had a fun trip to the fire department today and I was  able to help chaperone. It was super fun and we learned a lot. The firemen dressed up in their gear and let the kids practice some drills. We were also able to climb in a few of the emergency vehicles and learn more about what firemen do every day. Here she is with a couple of her cute friends Miriam and Emmaline.

January 28

Carter and Allen have spent the last few evenings working on Carter's last Pinewood Derby car. They did a lot of research and have tweaked things quite a bit from previous years. The derby is not my favorite thing in the world since I feel like it takes over our lives for a couple weeks but I'm so grateful these two have each other. I also can't believe Carter is almost out of Cub Scouts!

January 27

Nicole, Maddie and Brinley spent a couple days up in Seattle. Brinley had a cheer competition and the kids love hanging out together all weekend. We sure love our cousins and are so glad to live much closer to them. This was after church and dinner right before Nicole headed back to Vancouver.

January 26

Today Carter had another basketball game. He is improving every week and is loving his team this year. He took last year off of basketball so he playing a bit of catch up this week. We're so lucky to have gotten him onto a team with a great coach. He is learning a lot from his coach and teammates.
